The Radio Amateur and his Humor
This exhibition is now closed

The Radio Amateur and his Humor is an exhibition about the illustrations that Hans Evers, PA0CX, made over the years for ham radio magazines Electron (NL) and Ham Radio (USA). His work covers a period of nearly 60 years in which he regularly changed his technique. Hans made (and still makes) illustration for the various articles in Electron and humor is not uncommon in his drawings. He also frequently created the front cover for both magazines.

During the 2010 HELL-mettings, held on 9 October 2010, the exhibition was officially opened. Guest of honour was - no surprise - artist Hans Evers (PA0CX) - himself. Hans, who lives in France, travelled all the way to Budel for this special occasion.

After the official opening ceremony, Hans was also honoured by the chairman of the Dutch Ham Radio Association VERON, for his many years of loyal service and his enormous productivity.

Thanks on behalf of the VERON

Over the past 60 years, Hans created so many illustrations that it would be impossible to show them all in this small exhibition. We have therefore made a selection of an (important) part of his work. A complete book with all his drawings will be available in the museum library for this interested.

Apart of his drawings, some of his electronic creations are on display as well. Whenever possible, the electronic circuits are displayed side by side to the original drawings. An impressive example is the home-brew milk can VFO that Hans developed at very young age.

Below a few pictures to give you an impression of the exhibition. These photographs were all made during the 2010 HELL-meeting. Click any of them to enlarge.
