In memoriam: Nanno van Haaften, PE1OLQ

In the past, the various rig conversions were maintained by
fellow ham Nanno van Haaften, PE1OLQ. Unfortunately, on 27 August
2001, during a well deserved holiday, Nanno passed away completely
unexpected at the age of 42. It will be very difficult to replace him.

Nanno was an amateur with the real ham-spirit. Always
available to help his fellow hams. His website always contained
the most recent descriptions of rig conversions and much of his
work has been used in this new website.
Despite his very busy real-life job, he sometimes found the time
to create something for himself. This picture was
taken in his (very small) shack not too long before he died.
Look closely at the bottom right and discover a Nokia Mobira
mobile telephone, converted into a 70cm amateur transceiver.
One of his last projects.
